The First Congregational Church of Revere Food Pantry has served individuals and families in Revere since 1983. As an emergency food provider, we currently serve over 1,000 families each month from our location at 230 Beach Street, Revere.
Rooted in our faith, we extend the love of Jesus by providing emergency food with compassion and dignity, working toward a community where everyone has reliable access to food. Together we serve neighbors from many backgrounds and life circumstances and, when additional support is needed, help connect individuals with trusted local nonprofit partners and city resources.

We are open every Wednesday from 6:00–8:00 pm at 230 Beach Street, Revere, MA. Households can pick up food once a month.
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns about coming to the food pantry.
The Food Pantry runs 100% on volunteers, and we welcome individuals and groups to help serve our neighbors. We need help with weekly food deliveries and distributions, as well as occasional weekday tasks such as picking up donated food.
Deliveries usually take place weekly on Monday or Tuesday around 9:00 a.m. and last 1–2 hours.
Volunteers help unload, sort, label, and put food away. This is a great fit for those available in the mornings and comfortable with light to moderate lifting.
Every Wednesday, volunteers help with:
Volunteers assist with setting up tables, registering clients, restocking food, helping carry bags, and cleaning up afterward.

The First Congregational Church of Revere Food Pantry was established in 1983 under the leadership of Jan Dempsey to address hunger in our community. With a $500 seed grant from Project Bread and the support of local churches and organizations, we served just 5 families (12 people) in our first month. Over the years, through prayer and faithful community partnership, the pantry grew to serve 250–500 families per month. Even in lean seasons — like 2003, when shelves were nearly empty before the holidays — God faithfully provided through generous donors and local businesses, establishing a foundation of trust, service, and ministry that continues today.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the need in our community surged dramatically. In April 2020, lines stretched down to the high school, and by early May we were serving as many as 462 families in a single day. That year alone, we served 4,707 unique families — compared to 785 in 2019 — distributing over 30,000 bags of food and nearly half a million pounds from the Greater Boston Food Bank. Through partnership with the City of Revere, temporary relocation to Rumney Marsh Academy, and thousands of volunteer hours, God provided space, resources, and people at every turn, allowing us to continue serving safely and faithfully during one of the most challenging seasons in recent history.

More than 40 years after its founding, our food pantry continues to serve as an emergency food provider for families in Revere while adapting to changing needs. In 2025, we served 2,752 unique families through more than 10,000 visits and distributed over 20,000 bags of food. After a flood temporarily displaced us from our church building, we relocated, rebuilt, and adopted a “client choice” model that allows families to select foods that best meet their needs and cultural preferences. Through partnerships with the Greater Boston Food Bank, local vendors, city agencies, and the North Shore Food Security Collaborative, we remain committed to serving our neighbors with dignity, compassion, and the love of Christ.
